plunge wildly on ahead

Overcast this morning. Sunny with a cool breeze in the afternoon. Flushed the bird bath. Cleaned up dog poop. Rearranged three rocks in a bed and moved the Echinacea to the space where the rocks had been. Moved some Flox that the Forsythia was crowding to where the Echinacea had been. Spread compost around the base of these transplants. Cut back a plant that I don't know the name of to the ground. Moved/grouped the Petunia, Geranium, Salvia containers to/in an empty spot at the base of the European Mountain Ash. Cut some dead growth off an Azalea. Moved a well established large Azalea to the large bed next to my neighbor's fence--I had planned to do this a couple weeks ago. Hosed dirt off the sidewalk next to where the Azalea had been--I know it's a waste of water but please don't hold it against me. Leveled out the space where the Azalea had been. Used the hedge trimmer to shear two other Azaleas. Weeded the Fern bed. Cleaned up/trimmed the edge of the Fern bed. Emptied the lawn cart. Watered everything well. Sat and watched the birds take baths.

no matter what else happens

Upper 80s. Cool breeze. Watered. Flushed the bird bath. Deadheaded the Sweet Peas, Gaillardia, Petunias and one Rose. Took a cutting from the same Rose, dipped it in water and rooting powder, and planted it a pot with rich soil. Ate a few Raspberries. Sat and watched the birds.

in spite of being tired

Upper 80s. Nice breeze. Watered containers and wildflower bed. Pulled up an extremely large alleged wildflower. Moved Strawberry pot to where the "wildflower" had been. Pulled up an errant Raspberry cane. Flushed bird bath.

parsimonious

High of 91ยบ. Stiff breeze. Flushed the bird bath. Watered the Azaleas. Exchanged a bamboo stake near the Echinacea for an antique beer keg tap.

try to open up your heart

Sunny and hot with a steady cooling breeze. Cleaned up dog poop and Pine cones. Weed wacked around the fence line. Mowed the back yard. Cut back Salvia, Flox, Herb Sage, and Lavender. Emptied the lawn cart. Soaked the hell out of all the beds, containers, shrubs, and trees--it is supposed to be very hot the next few days. Flushed the bird bath. Sat in the shade and watched the Sparrows.

surprised by your silence

Cool and overcast this morning. Hot and cloudy with a breeze this afternoon. Clipped a few more dried out blooms off the Sweet Peas and the Geraniums. Ate a few Raspberries. Trained a Clematis vine to the trellis. Threw my dog a bone.

keep an eye on your relatives

Upper 80s. Sunny. Watered everything. Cut dried blooms off the Sweet Peas, Lantana, Verbena, Coreopsis, Gaillardia, and Petunias. Sat in the shade for about 15 minutes and ran cold water from the hose onto my feet. Flushed the bird bath. Ate a Strawberry.
